Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is commonly viewed as one of the most complex but popular poker games. It is a game that, even more than regular Omaha poker, aims for play from every level of players. This is the main reason why a once invisible variation, has expanded in popularity so amazingly.

Omaha hi low starts exactly like a regular game of Omaha. Four cards are given out to every player. A round of wagering follows where gamblers can wager, check, or fold. 3 cards are given out, this is called the flop. A further round of betting ensues. Once all the players have either called or dropped out, an additional card is flipped on the turn. a further sequence of wagering follows and then the river card is flipped. The players will have to make the strongest high and low 5 card hands based on the board and hole cards.

This is the point where some players can get confused. Contrasted to Texas Hold ‘Em, in which the board can make up every player’s hand, in Omaha Hi-Lo the player has to utilize precisely three cards from the board, and precisely two cards from their hand.
